About the Club
Bournemouth Cricket Club is believed to be one of the largest Cricket Clubs in the country. At senior level this season we are running six men's sides each Saturday throughout the season, two Sunday X1's, a ladies team as well as a midweek team on Wednesday evenings playing in the Wimborne Evening League. This is complimented by training sessions on Thursday evening at which a bowling machine is available.

Our flagship 1st and 2nd team play in the Gold and Bronze Divisions of the Southern Electric Premier Cricket League a competition that the Club won in 1984 and 1996 and finnished runners up in 1997, 2003 and 2011.We have a new Captain of the 1st XI in Scott Barlow and our first team continues to be ably managed by Ken House. Our first team also play in the Southern Electric Twenty/20 winning the Cockspur Cup in 2009, and enjoying a trip to Barbados. We are also entering the National Knock Out Competition this year.

The Club's 3rd XI plays in Division 1 of the Dorset Cricket League, the 4th XI plays in Hampshire South West Regional Division 3 and the 5th and 6th XI play in Hampshire League South West Regional Division 4.

The playing facilities at Bournemouth Sports Club where the Cricket Club is based are renowned for being of the highest quality. The Club has three pitches available for its use, two of which have grass squares and two pavilions. Our own pavilion on C2 pitch was constructed thanks to a £50,000 grant from the ECB's Community Club Development Fund. This year we are hoping to refurbish our nets, purchase an electronic scoreboard for our main pitch and 2 new scoreboxes one on C1 and one on C4. Our pitch on C4 is used predominantly by Colts and our 5th and 6th XI and is an astro turf strip.

Our Club is run by a hard working committee of volunteers overseen by Rob Coombs ( former Somerset CCC bowler) our Club Chairman. All official roles and team managers at Colts level are run by committed volunteers for which the Club is very grateful. As a Club we partake in the Nat West Cricket Force Weekend each year where volunteers prepare the Club for the season ahead.

The Club prides itself on being able to offer cricket and coaching for players of all ages, genders, race and abilities. We operate an Equitable Cricket Policy.

We have a varied social scene centered around our many fundraising events from Club BBQ's to Race Nights to our Colt's Summer Fair. See our up coming events.
